One step closer to being a rock star! Believe me, this was a big step, too. So big that I deemed it blogworthy. Drumroll, please...
I played a song on my guitar. And sang along. At the same time. First time ever.
Wonder of wonders! Who would have ever believed that Nick Cochran would be able to play his guitar and actually sing along?! Heck, I wouldn't believe it myself, except that I was there!
The song that made history: I'm Not Your Stepping Stone by the Monkees. Some of my wittier readers will be tempted to make jokes about how I ought to be able to perform a song if even monkeys can. But I hope they don't, because that's just dumb.
So, next time you see me, ask me to sing the song. And if we ever get tired of this one, I might even try to learn another.
Wow, I just noticed that my entry was titled "One Step Closer" and the song I sang was called "I'm Not Your Stepping Stone".

Really, I'm impressed since I can't sing or play the guitar separately, much less at the same time. And that business about chewing gum and walking at the same time--don't ask!
