That last blog post is officially old enough to vote and purchase alcohol in the United States. When it was posted, the Motorola Razr was the hottest cell phone, and the iPhone wouldn’t be launched for another two years. Back then, you rented movies at Blockbuster, because YouTube and streaming didn’t exist, yet. Osama Bin Laden was still on the run, subprime mortgages were good fun, and nobody had even heard of a “cinematic universe.”

If there were a Guinness World Record for blog dormancy, this blog was in the running.

Even if I had wanted to write a new post any time in the past decade, the underlying technology was out of date and essentially broken. I had little hope that this blog hibernation would ever end.

Dormant. Static. Lifeless.

Until today.

Thanks to a challenge from my brother-in-law Steven, I decided to finally try out one of the powerful new AI coding agents. In a weekend, I was able to “partner” with it to rebuild my custom blog platform on modern technology, to make it both functional and usable once more.

And don’t worry—the ramblings themselves still come straight from my goofy human brain. And you’ll still find the same early-2000s Internet vibes, that disinterested green cow, and all the original content in the archive.

This blog is no longer dormant. The hibernation is over. But what sort of rambling creature has emerged? A lot has changed since 2004. Where do I begin?
